Professionals

At NewCare we have always placed great priority on building and developing our links with Devon’s local and health authorities. As the largest independent provider of Community Social Care services in the county, currently some 7500 hours per week, we have found ourselves, with our commissioning colleagues, at the fore front of Social Care service development. Our Directors and Managers maintain our commitment to development of co-operation and joint planning.

A few examples of projects which we are currently or have been involved in:

  • Rapid Response Services: The development of an emergency night sitting service across Teignbridge
  • Personal Brokerage: Close involvement in the development of this commissioning strategy as a member of the steering group
  • Framework Contracts: As a leading member of the Devon Independent Care Providers Association and the Provider Engagement Network NewCare has been involved closely with the ongoing development of these new contracts
  • Mobile Night Services: A new service to be piloted in Exeter. The provision of a flexible and responsive night care service aimed at reducing unnecessary hospital admission and facilitating safe discharge
  • Electronic Monitoring of Domiciliary Care: NewCare was involved from the outset of this Devon County Council project, involving membership of the project team, tender evaluation team, implementation and monitoring board and piloting the system for the County
  • Supported Living Services: The development of innovative community supported living programmes in conjunction with Devon County Council, Adult and Community Services and Primary Care Trust commissioners
  • Domiciliary Care market failure cover: Provision of domiciliary care services at short notice where existing providers have been unable to provide
  • Development of a wide range of flexible and responsive ‘Care Solutions’ for many Service Users with highly complex needs.

Looking forward into a challenging future, one thing we can be sure about is that a close and evolving relationship between commissioners and providers will be an essential factor in the promotion and delivery of effective, flexible and reliable Health and Social Care services.

At NewCare we believe that we have and can continue to make a valuable contribution and we would invite contact from any social care professional practitioner or commissioners who wish to discuss individual care programmes or seek contribution from us in the development of the care sector as a whole.
